Toast!

Adrian got to try some toast (closely supervised) the other day for the first time.  He was quite a fan and felt like such a big boy! Here's a video a took while he was eating.

There are seven million.

Etsy

Since I got my awesome sewing machine from a garage sale a few months ago, I've really enjoyed learning how to use it. It's so fun to make things for Adrian and other people.

I'm thinking of opening an Etsy shop. If I do that, I'll also want a page on facebook and probably a blog dedicated just to what I'm making to sell. I know, I know, dreams of actually having a successful work-at-home business may be a little lofty at this point, but it would be my perfect job! I've seen some great ideas on Pinterest, and I'm getting excited.

I can make taggy blankets, soft toys, lovies, and a few other things. The shop would be dedicated entirely to baby things.

So, what I need from you, dear readers (all two of you), is suggestions.

=What would be a good idea for names for my shop?

=Do you have any advice for being successful on Etsy?

=Any advice in general?

And of course, all donations to the cause would be welcomed warmly :)

I'm Tweeting Now

So, for the last, however long....I've ignored twitter. I know, I'm such an old person!

But, my sister in law has convinced me to try it.

So, if you want to know all my business, you can follow me on twitter now: https://twitter.com/#!/mrs_fasciano

Ugh Lately

Do you ever have those times when someone says something hurtful to you and you just think, "insert equally hurtful-but-even-more-damaging thought here"? As in, "I'll show YOU". Ugh. I hate that. If you don't ever think or say things like this, then you're one perfect person and I'd give anything to be you.  One thing I've realized since having a baby is that everything you do is wrong.
Seriously, I'm not even kidding.

Mothers feed their babies wrong. Mothers dress their babies wrong. Mothers dress themselves wrong. Mothers do ______not enough or ______ too much. It's hard being a mother! I like this quote, "Simply having children does not make mothers" which is so true. Every decision I make, every word I say, almost everything I do affects my child in some way.
I have too much to learn.

Of course, I'm talking about how everyone has advice on how you should do or should not do something a certain way.  Usually, my gut instinct is to respond in a way that's equally critical, but in thinking about all this it makes me even more aware of how much I need my Savior.
Oh, how thankful I am for grace.

Grace doesn't make me a perfect person, but it does help me that I would certainly be more of a careless one with out it and Him. I am so undeserving.

Little Spoon

Our days are full of busy. He on the phone all day, dealing with crisis, dealing with cars. Talking to strangers and juggling things that have to get done right now. Me folding laundry, washing dishes, kissing tears away and rocking a teething baby.

Our nights are just us. Even when we've had a long day, I look forward to finally laying my head on his strong shoulder, all our eyes heavy. Whatever kind of day we've had, I love how it ends with me being the little spoon in his arms. "Good night baby, I love you".

When I used to think of my future family, I always imagined a tidy house full of pets and happy children. We'd have a nice car, a picket fence, and apple pies in the window. What I didn't imagine was someone who was so perfectly fit to the puzzle piece that is me. I like God's imagination.
There is no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved. It is God's finger on man's shoulder.

Mornings in the Sun

The weather has been so perfect here in Jacksonville lately.  I just love the crisp, cool mornings.
I love how I can get up and wear my cozy warm robe and snuggle with my baby
(who's been particularly snuggly lately).
Since it's been so nice, we've spent a lot of time on the porch.
Yesterday I took a few pictures of Adrian. He loves watching the cars go by.

I love those pooh pajamas. Too bad he'll grow out of them all too soon!

Weekend in Lynchburg

This past weekend, Adrian and I went to Lynchburg, VA. Thankfully, he was a great little traveler and the drive up there went pretty smoothly. We really enjoyed hanging out with Andrea and her roommates, and of course Adrian loved the attention!

My family also came up to see Brandon play a game of football for Liberty.
He got a touchdown! Whoohoo go Brandon!

I really miss Lynchburg, so it was great to see so many much-loved people!
Here's some pictures from my photoshoot with my beautiful sister in law:

Such a great trip! And, by the way, welcome October (my very favorite month).

Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter.
